STUDENT TESTIMONIALS

"I came at the invitation of a friend. I like the idea of the university supporting the staff and students with many different class opportunities."

- Rhoda H.

"I found it to be very challenging since I am the least coordinated person I know…..no cheerleading teams in my past! But the classes were very stress relieving and allows for a cross-training effect in my exercise routine."

- Kim H.

"They (classes) are great fun, good exercise and are probably less likely to cause injury than walking to your car!!! They improve balance, coordination and posture and I thoroughly enjoyed participating."

- Pat W.

"I had decided to attend this class because I had attended a Drum Circle performance and thought it would be fun to learn. My decision to continue to attend classes is because of the atmosphere and the content. Meaning it's very friendly and open. I don't feel inadequate or slow if I don't pick something up right away, we are all on the same page, we all want to help each other. Isis is a very encouraging teacher and she has broadened my interest in learning about the history behind the dancing not just learning how to perform. I believe this class has helped me to not only learn to dance for fun, but to be proud of my accomplishments as a dancer & a person. I believe this class would greatly benefit a number of people both physically and mentally. I know it did for me."

- Jasmine K.

"As a student of belly dance, I find that not only do I enjoy the dancing for its own sake, I enjoy the enhanced control I developed over my own body, improvements to my posture and coordination, and the sense of community that develops between the ladies in the class. On a more personal note, one of the things I enjoy about belly dance, over, say, martial arts training, is the music and camaraderie. It's FUN, and
that's one of the things that I need to keep my interest in an exercise program."

- Jannifer Y.

I have had a great time taking the class and look forward to taking more.

- Deb L.

"I started Tribal Bellydance for Beginners a couple of months ago. I first found Isis on the internet, and I picked her as an instructor for several reasons..one, I appreciated her modesty rule (no bare torsos in performance or in class), she had a good style of bellydance and a good resume, and also because of the location. I wanted to learn how to bellydance, but I was very apprehensive about joining a class. My first day I was very pleasantly surprised. Isis is very easygoing person, easy to get along with. She makes everyone in her class feel welcome and comfortable. I keep going to Isis because I love bellydance, and I love being a part of Isis' class. It is a good way for me to get some exercise, and a most enjoyable way, too!"

- Jessi Y.

"I enjoy every class I attend. It has been good for me mentally as well as physically."

- Miranda C.

"It is challenging to learn and there is nothing sleazy or trashy about this style of dance. It is a very empowering dance form."

- Toia P.

"I enjoy it also because if I were just to go to the gym on base, it's a very crowded co-ed environment, and it's nice to be able to do a class that is strictly female. Most of all it gives me something to do while my fiance is deployed to Iraq. Doing something physical really takes my mind off worrying about him and missing him. It gives me something else to focus on. Isis is a wonderful instructor, and I'm really looking forward to going to class again."
